Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data Emberwell (the “Service”) collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is Eul Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company, 30 N Gould St, Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. Privacy questions and requests: support@getemberwell.app.
2. What we collect
- Account details: a user ID we assign and, if you create an account, your email address, an optional username and your password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Your content: entries, notes or other material you create in the Service.
- Progress: which parts of the Service you have completed, so you can pick up where you left off.
- Purchase records: product, price, currency, dates and subscription status. We never receive your full card number. Payments are processed by the app store or by Paddle.
- Support messages: what you write to us and our replies.
We collect this data from you directly, from your device when you use the Service, and from the providers listed below (for example, the app store tells us that a purchase succeeded). We do not collect payment card numbers.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service and the features you ask for, including personalisation. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you.
- To process purchases, manage subscriptions and provide support. Legal basis: contract, and our legal obligations (for example tax records).
- To keep the Service secure and fix problems. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To comply with law and to protect our rights. Legal basis: legal obligation and legitimate interests.
We do not use your data to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it to providing their services to us, and with authorities where the law requires:
- Google LLC (Google Play): app distribution and in-app payments (privacy policy)
- Apple Inc. (App Store): app distribution and in-app payments (privacy policy)
- Paddle.com Market Ltd: web checkout, payment processing and merchant of record for web purchases (privacy policy)
- RevenueCat, Inc.: subscription status and entitlement management across stores and web (privacy policy)
- Amazon Web Services, Inc.: backend hosting and storage (EU — Frankfurt region) (privacy policy)
- Cloudflare, Inc.: website hosting and security (privacy policy)
- Google LLC (Google Workspace): support email (privacy policy)
We may also share data if Eul Studio LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. International transfers
Eul Studio LLC is based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the US, the EU and other countries. Where we transfer personal data out of the EU, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on adequacy decisions or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and their UK equivalent).
6. How long we keep it
Your account, journal entries and progress are kept while your account exists and are deleted when you delete it. Your answers to the onboarding questions stay on your device and are not sent to us. Our server logs contain no IP address, email address or content and are kept for 30 days. Backups expire within 35 days. Purchase records we must keep by law are kept for up to 7 years.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it in a portable format, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time. California and other US state residents also have the right to know what we collect and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
- Delete your account and data: In the app: Settings → Delete account, or email us from the address on your account. Deleting your account erases your account, journal and progress. It does not cancel a Google Play or App Store subscription; cancel that in the store.
- Any other request: email support@getemberwell.app. We reply within 30 days, and may need to verify your identity first.
If you are in the EU or UK, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will notify you in the Service or by email before it takes effect. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
